Our month in Myrtle Beach was less MTV Spring Break and more “why the hell is it so cold here?” Our plan to never be places where the air hurt our face appears to have failed, as SC had unseasonably cold temps.

We celebrated one year on the road over Thanksgiving weekend. We marked the occasion with some great dining and the opening of a 56 year old bottle of port that was given to Brian by his coworkers at a previous job. Not gonna lie, the port has aged better than we have. It was magnificent.

Where We Stayed:
Carolina Pines RV Resort. This place has lots of amenities – onsite restaurant and bar (with delivery service to your RV door), bumper bowling, a bunch of pools. Be advised you will hear karaoke on Friday nights, It might feel overly crowded in the summer but in the offseason it was a nice mix of social yet peaceful. Sites were spacious with concrete pads. The dog parks had agility equipment so we were looking forward to not having to drag stuff with us to practice but the items they had were actually dangerous (ultra high slats on contacts, tables with holes to catch a nail, thick metal bars on jumps that don’t displace, and spring based weave poles).

Where We Ate:
Carolina Pines Bistro
The Grumpy Monk – Excellent food and overall vibe. Great spot for Sunday football watching. Unless you’re a Jets fan like us because then Sunday football is just painful, no matter where you are.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House – While we prefer to dine at local restaurants, sometimes it’s hard to resist a classic.
Dragon Pan
Backyard Sports Bar
Fortune Asian Bistro
