Cambridge is referred to as a city of squares (Kendall, Porter, Central.. you get the idea). The truth is it’s actually a city of circles…. traffic circles, better known to the locals as rotaries (aka the devil’s stoplight). It’s full of great dining, bookstores that beg for all my money, and incredible pain trying finding parking that isn’t resident permit only. Like our previous trip to MA, we ended up spending more time in Cambridge than in Boston. There’s so much to love in this city (as long as there aren’t wheels and a motor involved).
We wanted to kayak on the Charles but there was red flag warning due to an unfortunate situation that week involving raw sewage. Upon getting the disclaimer from the kayak rental company to avoid getting water in an open sore or do not under any circumstances let the river water touch the mouth of your drinking bottle, we opted to significantly reduce our likelihood of a staph infection and took an architectural boat tour instead.
