Crosby got to spend a few weeks in the same town as his namesake. One of our first tasks on arriving in town was to remove the Islanders tire cover from the Jeep, as it was said Islanders who had just eliminated the Penguins in the playoffs and sent (human) Sidney Crosby to the golf course.

Cincinnati was the answer to the question “Where is a good place along I-75 to kill time during a one week gap between monthly reservations?” It also turned out to be a good reminder that full timing means discovering unexpectedly enchanting locations that we’d never consider as vacation-worthy.

This was our second visit to the city, so we had already seen the usual first timer sights (Grand Ole Opry, Marathon Village, Johnny Cash Museum). As returning visitors we also knew to keep our distance when seeing a bunch of women in matching bachelorette party t-shirts outside the honky tonks, because chances are pretty high that one of them is gonna puke on your shoes.
