Crosby got to spend a few weeks in the same town as his namesake. One of our first tasks on arriving in town was to remove the Islanders tire cover from the Jeep, as it was said Islanders who had just eliminated the Penguins in the playoffs and sent (human) Sidney Crosby to the golf course. Tracey also escaped for a few days to head to the other side of the state to see coworkers, visit our stuff in storage, and buy a new vacuum in the glorious tax free land known as Delaware.

What We Did:
Andy Warhol Museum
Fred Rogers Museum
Flight 93 Memorial (check out nearby Duppstadt Country Store when you go)
Where We Stayed:
South Washington/Pittsburgh KOA. At least this time we didn’t get the RV stuck in a snow bank after an unexpected storm (yeah, we’ve got history with this place).
RVing in the Pittsburgh area usually means a choice between:
- a location AT&T has never heard of and certainly doesn’t provide coverage in
- being stuck on the side of a mountain and figuring out how you’ll get off without bottoming out your tow connection
KOA is the latter, hence what we shall all remember as The Great RV Snow Skid of 2014 (in case you’re wondering – yes, RVs can fishtail n the snow like cars and yes, it takes a crazy amount of those ice melt pellets to get them unstuck). Also, for yinz who are considering staying there (“yinz” being the marginally less annoying Pittsburgh equivalent to the Southern “y’all”): Make sure to follow the road signs into the park and not the GPS because the entry roads getting there are as challenging as keeping a teenager off social media for a month.
Where We Ate:
Eleven
Federal Galley
Andora
Red Tea House
